Okay folks,
Now it is time to get creative! We will be starting our poetry unit this week. Do any of you have any ideas on how we might best use this blog during our unit? I was thinking maybe we could share some of our poetry or start a line of poetry and then each add our own line w/ a certain set rhyme scheme. What are your thoughts?

Hey Mrs. Mic! I lovveee poetry, (and I'm not just saying that I mean it) and I think that this will be interesting. Oh I also write my own poems here is one of them:
Brokenness
Today is barely a memory,
Tomorrow is a drift,
Yesterday is rolling down a hill,
I’m alone and inert,
The walls are moving ,
And whispering of her…
Everything is broken,
All is gone now,
My life has almost ended,
All among this dream…
Its all so frantic,
An so some what fragile,
Now what life is,
Really isn’t at all,
You think its all great,
And glorious but,
When it comes down to it,
We were all truly wrong…
Were all in this vortex,
Spinning and whirling on and on,
We just want to scream,
But all we can do is laugh,
As if were on the pedestal,
Waiting to be the open act…
Now my life is at it’s end,
No ones looking upon my death bed,
Everyone’s quiet in awe and shock,
So all the lights have faded,
Ashes to ashes,
Dust to dust,
All have found,
That were all,
Truly broken inside…

Wow Emily! I see you love free verse. What a beautiful poem. You've got lots of metaphors and imagery. I can't wait to read your poetry portfolio. Keep creating! One suggestion, change "were" to "we're", add the apostrophe so it reads "we are".
